I found a dead honey bee the other morning and I haven't been able to think of much else since.

I wrote this a little while ago.

I wasnt expecting this out of you - do you write very often? If not, you should, because this was very touching and compelling.

It appeared to be a stream of conciousness written on a whim, but read like a piece of poetry at the same time. I kept thinking "oh this is sad, this is sad, I dont want to keep reading it"..but I kept reading it anyhow, because you know how to draw a reader in.

Forgive me for saying this, but I am stuned.
To be frank and honest, I expect humor or a bit of humor filled sarcasm from you. But, this is a deep and pain filled work that has left me, and a room mate, touched.
It's deep and meaningful and the perspective is done very well, I felt hurt by what she finds, how sad she has become and I feel a little of her anger as well.
And to feel things from a fictional character is saying a great deal, I think.
Thank you for sharing this.

I write when the mood strikes me or I find an idea that I am compelled (call it "divine inspiration") to write about. I have difficulty focusing on anything long enough to write more than a half page.

"Sad kid" seems to be a place I can connect with very well. I get inside that character quite easily and so it's easier for me to write, I suppose.

Thank you for your kind words. If I do write more, I'll be more likely to post it now that I know some people are actually interested in seeing it.

To be sure, Cheska, Janie is real on some level. I have known Janies in my lifetime and I think, to one degree or another, we have, most of us, been her once or twice.

Sometimes a moment in life is exceedingly powerful and it brings out the best or worst in us. I'm glad I could share this with others and I'm happy that it touched something in you and your room mate. I think the biggest crime about the modern world is how removed we all want to be from our emotional center. We lock away our true selves so much, nowadays, that we even have taken to calling that piece of us our "Inner Child" and we suppress it as much as possible. Every now and again, it's good to wear your inner child on the outside and to tell the world that it hurts you, or makes you smile or afraid or that you love it.

Thanks for letting me know what you think.

I do not have an Inner Child, ask my friends... I have an Inner Adult.

Personally, I have an inner giant asshole. We're pretty interchangeable, him and me.

 But both are still ... oddly enough, lovable.
